$ Pueblo Historic Arkansas Riverwalk

A reclaimed urban riverwalk along the Arkansas River with restaurants, public art, gondola rides, and a relaxed downtown pace — Pueblo's answer to San Antonio.
About 45 minutes south down I-25. The riverwalk itself is free — paved paths along the channel with bridges, public art, and waterfalls. Several restaurants line it; Brues Alehouse has the best riverside patio.
Combine with a trip to Lake Pueblo State Park for boating or a stop at the Pueblo Chile Festival (late September) if your timing works. Bishop Castle is also drivable from here on a full day out.
