North Cheyenne Cañon Park

A 1,600-acre canyon park where the foothills crack open into red-walled cliffs, waterfalls, and miles of trails — the original Colorado Springs scenic drive.

Drive in from the Cheyenne Boulevard side and the road narrows into one of the prettiest scenic drives in the city — past Helen Hunt Falls, the Starsmore Discovery Center, and switchbacks up to Gold Camp Road with views back over the plains.

Stop at the Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center for trail maps. Popular hikes from here include the Mount Cutler Trail (1.5 mi out-and-back, panoramic), Seven Bridges (3.6 mi, follows the creek), and the steep climb up Mount Muscoco. Bring layers — the canyon is shadier and ~10°F cooler than the city in summer.
