Free Manitou Incline
10 Old Mans Trail, Manitou Springs, CO 80829
The famous 2,744-step climb up an old cable-car bed — a one-mile workout that gains 2,000 feet of elevation. Not a gentle introduction to altitude, but an unforgettable one.
You must reserve a free timed-entry pass at coloradosprings.gov before you go. Bring more water than you think you need — the altitude here starts at 6,500 feet. Most visitors descend via the Barr Trail (about 3 miles) rather than walking back down the steps.
Give yourself 1.5–3 hours round-trip. Park in Manitou Springs and take the free shuttle from the Iron Springs Chateau lot.
