Manitou Springs Historic District

A half-mile strip of independent shops, galleries, arcades, and natural mineral-springs fountains — a walkable historic district that's equal parts hippie, artsy, and touristy, in exactly the right proportions.

Park at the free shuttle lot at the east end of town and ride in — Manitou Avenue parking is rough on summer weekends. Don’t miss Patsy’s Candies (if they have seasonal flavors in), the Penny Arcade (hand-cranked games from the 1920s), and any of the mineral-springs fountains you pass — they’re free and drinkable.

Pair with breakfast at Adam’s Mountain Cafe or dinner at Mona Lisa Fondue for a full day in town.
