Free Helen Hunt Falls
3440 N Cheyenne Canyon Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906
A 35-foot waterfall right beside the road in North Cheyenne Cañon, with a short stone staircase up to the taller Silver Cascade Falls behind it. Low effort, high payoff — perfect first hike in town.
Park at the small lot by the Starsmore Discovery Center or continue up the canyon to the Helen Hunt Falls pullout. The staircase to Silver Cascade Falls is short but steep — under 10 minutes to the top viewing platform. Expect mist in spring melt.
Pair with the Mount Cutler Trail (a few minutes down the road) to turn a quick stop into a half-day.
