Free Garden of the Gods
1805 N 30th St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Towering red sandstone fins rise straight out of the grassland with Pikes Peak as the backdrop — a free, world-famous park with easy paved trails and serious rock-climbing walls.
Start at the Visitor & Nature Center on 30th Street for the orientation film and the best view of the park before you head down. The Perkins Central Garden Trail is a flat 1.1-mile paved loop that weaves between the headline formations — stroller and wheelchair friendly.
Early mornings (before 9 AM) and late afternoons are magic for photos. If you can, catch sunrise from the High Point Overlook on Juniper Way Loop. Rain jackets in your car from May through August — afternoon thunderstorms roll in fast.
